Rules for Bohemians Winter Doubles Ladder
Rules of the Ladder: The ladder is intended to give players the opportunity to play doubles with a variety of players in a competitive but friendly atmosphere.
1. Challenging: Challengers can challenge up to two places above their position. Should they be successful in their match then the challengers will take the ladder position of the beaten pair who in turn will move down one place only. Everyone in between the players will also move down one spot. If challengers lose no one moves.
The challengers will select the time and date of the match and offer one alternative if necessary. Only two refusals are allowed before automatic promotion takes place. Players must accept the challenge within 2 days, if a couple fails to respond to a challenge they will lose by default. Any player under challenge cannot accept a second challenge until the first challenge is played.
Any dispute on match arrangements are to be taken up with club captain.
2. Duration of the Competition: The Tennis Ladder will be open to challenges from Thursday, October 1st 2009 through to Sunday, January 10th 2010.
3. Ranking: Starting positions on the ladder will be ranked in reverse order of playing positions during 2009 season. Couples will be paired in the most used combinations through the 2009 season. Team captains will have final say on ladder content. Only those players with winter memberships will be allowed to participate. Any players who join after the first week will be added to the bottom of the ladder.
The ladder will be open to both male and female players of all levels.
4. Match Rules: Match format is same as Liverpool Tennis league. Players shall split the court fees (lights).
5. Reporting the Score: Scores for each week should be emailed to unsie10@hotmail.com within 24 hours of match completion. The winners should report the score.
6. Ladder Updates: The ladder will be updated each weekend on the club notice board and can be manually updated by the winning teams after each match.
